I am trying to obtain information about a Charlotte Lee who died in Manayunk, Philadelphia PA on January 28, 1874. Aged 42. Her husband was Charles and her children Charles, William, Jane and George.

The only record we have of them is in a letter from Charles to his family in England which announces the sad death of his wife. The letter also contains a newspaper clipping which states they lived in West Manayunk. She was buried, according to the letter, on Sunday February 1, 1874 at Leverington Cemetery.

From the letter it suggests that both Charles and Charlotte came from England.

I have a computer image of the letter should anyone have interest in it.

I would appreciate any help in uncovering details of Charles, Charlotte and family who I believe are closely related to my Great Great Grandmother.

On July 14, 1860 aged 60, born in Pennsylvania, Joseph Dipper is listed in the Philadelphia County Prison. His occupation previous was Veterinary Surgeon. His reason for imprisonment was for "Deserting Wife". If anyone can give me further information on this individual, I'd appreciate it. My ancestor is Joseph Depew, and has disappeared from Pottawattamie Co. IA in 1852. I'm wondering if this person may be him. I have no other relations to go by. My Joseph's wife died in 1851 in IA, and all the children settled in UT. My Joseph did not travel with the relatives, just upped and disappeared. He cannot be found in UT censuses, as children were in care of other relatives, I'm led to believe he left the state, or died in IA.

Thank you.

I am in the process of preparing a history of Christ Lutheran Church in Chestnut Hill, Philadelphia. One of the early benefactors of the church was Paul P. Keller. A window in the church building, dated 1869 is dedicated to Paul P. Keller. He was listed as a friend of the congregation. Anyone with information?
