My search is for the names of the ships (and by some miracle the passengers) that came into Philadelphia in 1924 from Glasgow, Scotland. William Henry Kelsey came into Ellis Island 23 April 1923 from Glasgow aboard the ship Cameronia. William was b/1900 m/1918, Agnes Nancy BOAG in Glasgow. During the summer of 1924 William's wife, Agnes/Nancy arrived with daughter, Euphmeia, that was b/1919 in Glasgow. Family history has it that Agnes/Nancy and Euphemia arrived in Philadelphia instead of NY. Any assistance appreciated

I found in "Abstracts from the Pennsylvania Gazette, 1748-1755" (page 285) a list of men chosen in the year 1754 to be managers of the Contributors to the Pennsylvania Hospital. On the list is a William Grant and also of interest to me is Evan Morgan.

My great, great, great, great, great, grandfather was William Grant of Scotland who married Marjory Verner and he lived in or near Philadelphia before moving to North Carolina. William and Marjory Grant had a daughter who married a Fullerton and stayed in Philadelphia and a son, William Grant b. Feb. 22, 1726 PA d. June 22, 1804 Fayette Co. KY who married Elizabeth Boone, daughter of Squire Boone of Berks Co. PA and Sarah Morgan who was the daughter of Edward Morgan who lived in Philadelphia for a while. I don't know if the above Evan Morgan was a relative. I have been unable to find the name of the Fullerton who m. a dau. of Wm. and Marjory Grant.

I would like to know if anyone has any information about the William Grant who was a manager to the Contributors to the Pennsylvania Hospital in 1754? Though he may not be my William Grant, as I have very little information about my William Grant, any help would be appreciated.

My 5th great grandfather Joseph Wardon was from Pennsylvania, I don't know what county as yet. He removed with his family to Upper Canada in 1800 to reside in Canborough Township, Haldimand County [on the north side of Lake Erie] as an early settler. The land he bought in Canborough was sold to him by Benjamin Canby from Philadelphia, PA who had advertised for settlers. I don't know where Canby advertised, but I would assume it would have been around the Philadelphia area. I have an Upper Canada Land Petition for Joseph's son Michael Wardon, and he reports he was born in PA [in c1794] and came to Canada in the year 1800.

Joseph himself should have been born c1760s or early 1770s. I have a report of 3 sons. Joseph born c1792, Michael born c1794, and William no date for birth of William.

Joseph Sr. taught the settlers in Canborough Township to read and write. I don't know that he would have been a teacher in PA but he was literate. He did spell his name Wardon as evidenced on documents, the name has since been spelled Warden.

I'm hoping to find Joseph and his family in PA prior to 1800. Any assistance would be most appreciated.
Thank you

I am attempting to find out information about my G/grandfather's death. He was William FAULKNER & was born in Cookstown, County Tyrone, Northern Ireland in 1880.

He immigrated to USA & intended sending for his wife (Sarah) & family. However a letter was sent to my G/grandmother informing her that William had died suddenly in Philadelphia. The letter was dated June 25 1848 & was sent from a Mr Robert McGreight, School Street, Kensington, Philadelphia. Apparently a doctor was sent for & an inquest performed. He was buried in the Franklin Cemetery.

Where would I possibly be able to locate information about the inquest? I would be very grateful for any assistance. I did send off an e-mail to the Historical Society. (e-mail address hsppr@aol.com), but it was returned to me.

I'm looking for any information pertaining to Henrick Seller (Heinrich Zeller) from 1738 - 1750. Heinrich Zeller was born August 17, 1704 in Weinheim, Germany. He sailed to America with wife, Anna Maria, a young daughter, Anna Barbara (b.February 1732), and a young son, Johannes (b. 1735). They sailed aboard the Queen Elizabeth, captained by Alexander Hope, landing in Philadelphia on September 16, 1738. The family remained in Pennsylvainia until circa 1749 before migrating to then Augusta County, Virginia before it became Rockingham County, Virginia in 1778.

The ship registry of the Queen Elizabeth listed him as "Henrick Seller". Subsequent church records at the Peaked Mountain Church near McGaheysville, VA list him as both "Henry Sellers" and "John Henry Sellers".

We know nothing about him nor of the family while they were in PA 1738-1750. I believe he is tied to the overall Zeller lines out of Weinheim, Germany to PA, but have not been able to prove nor disprove this.

Any info and/or suggestions on where and how to research this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Michael Sellers, 6th Great Grandson of Heinrich Zeller (Henrick Seller)

My Great Aunt Emilie Kern Kastanek was born in Heinrichsgruen, (Bohemia) Austria on 10/1/1861 to Johann Kern and Anna Schindler Kern and she died in Philadelphia, at the home of her daughter Emilie Kastanek Douglass on: 11/19/1926. I have old photos with studio names on them: HOLTS -1031 Market St. - 48 N. 8th St. Philadelphia and SAWYER -159 N. 8th St. I have an old letter about one of her Douglass granddaughters (Florence) being married, while Mayor Kendrick was in office and he had the streets decorated and at the Hotel Majestic the business men had a wedding cake as big as the dining room table. I wonder what connection there was to Mayor Kendrick, that he would be involved in such an elaborate wedding of a cousin of mine? The name Emilie is repeated through three generations and the name James is repeated twice in the Douglass generation. James T. Douglass, the son of James and Emilie Douglass died in 1965 and I have traced him to the Wackerman Funeral Home. They replied to my letter and now I have contacted two St. Peter's churches in Phila. I am waiting to hear from St. Peter's Clavers, as a mass was read there. Also, I have contacted the New Cathedral Cemetery. James last address was: 1446 N. 4th St. He was born on April 25, 1905. If I am going to find any living relatives I will need the men's names, above all. Emilie Kern Kastanek had two sons and two daughters. Anna Kastanek Seibert and Emilie Kastanek Douglass, but I only know the name of one son. Karl Kastanek Jr. Did he have children? I don't know. There was a grandson by the name of Earl Douglass, who was born circa 1922. He might still be alive in Phila. Can anyone look for him in a Phila. phone book for me? James T. Douglass had a twin sister: Mamie Douglass Rosenheim. She had two sons. Her address was the same as her brother's: 1446 N. 4th St. Phila. Pa. 19122. I was told that she paid his funeral bill. She would be 97, so I don't think that she is still alive.

So, I am hopeful that you can give me some direction in finding my family members. Their obituaries would certainly help sort out the details.

Thank you for any suggestions you might be able to make. Anything would be deeply appreciated.

I am looking for any information on a Nancy Campbell, Campball. I know that she moved to P.A. when she was three yrs. old from Delaware. I found a will from a Nicholas Campbell in Newcastle Delaware that named a Nancy Campbell as his Bro.'s son's child living in or near Philidelphia with her sister Jean and Sally Campbell. The year of the will was 1797. I know that Nancy moved from P.A. to Columbiana Co. Ohio and there married a Nathaniel Mckee his family also from P.A. Any info that you would have would be most appreciated thank you.
