DIED, on Monday morning, at Quarantine, (New York,) Lieut. WILLIAM H. MOTT, of the U. S. Navy. He entered the Navy during the last war, and evinced at all times a firmness of spirit and a devotedness to his country which promised future usefulness. His active turn of mind induced him to enter the merchant service, in order to acquire a more correct and practical knowledge of seamanship. On his last voyage to the Brazils he contracted a complication of disorders, which terminated his earthly career. As a friend, he was generous and sincere-as an officer, brave and intelligent; as a husband, kind and affectionate. His loss must be sincerely felt by his family and a large circle of friends and relations.
